![]() The range of songs is great from up to date back to Elvis and Petula Clarke, so everyone can join in. This really is a fantastic game that can give you hours of entertainment (even I sing away to my hearts content and I would never do that outside the comfort of my living room or shower). Also it went down a storm at home, now every time some friends come back from the pub with us it goes straight on and we sing along happily into the early hours! This turned out to be a great success (take note all primary teachers like me who are rubbish at music) the kids had a great time and I had some peace to tidy my room (it was worth the money alone for that). I bought this for 2 reasons, firstly I was organising a party at home and I thought that karaoke is always a laugh, secondly and more importantly it was nearly the end of term and I was taking it into school for my class. For those looking for a multi-player game in particular, it comes very highly recommended. Ultimately, SingStar is innovative, very easy to get to grips with and when on top form, flat-out brilliant. Replete with the option to replay your performance and even use an EyeToy to be the star of the music video, SingStar is fantastic entertainment.Ī couple of minor gripes: the aforementioned single-player mode is short-term fun at best, and could be improved the 30 included songs-from bands as diverse as Atomic Kitten and Motörhead-are mostly well chosen and varied, but you'll work your way through them a little too quickly. Then there's the outstanding battle mode, where two of you warble through the same song concurrently, and the game picks a winner at the end. The game comes laden with numerous little games, which can involve you passing the mic around, or joining up for a good old-fashioned duet. The single-player mode is fairly simple and straightforward, but in multi-player mode SingStar strikes gold. Hit the right notes for the right amount of time, and you'll get high scores, which in career mode can then unlock virtual clubs to sing at and more songs, too. Also, you'll find on-screen indicators as to what pitch you need to be singing at, and it's here that the game assesses you. It comes bundled with two surprisingly good-quality microphones, and the idea is that, in true karaoke style, songs with predominantly official backing videos appear on your screen and you have to sing the right words at the right time. It's a game that tests you on your singing ability-or lack of-and serves up some rollicking entertainment while it does so. Looking for one of the best multi-player party games on the PlayStation 2? You've just found it, and it's called SingStar. In addition, the game is EyeToy compatible, allowing players to actually see themselves singing within the game. SingStar comes with two microphones that plug into PlayStation 2 via a USB adapter, offering an instant multi-play experience. Pass the Mic is the ultimate party game, encouraging duets and team competitions and Star Maker allows budding stars to follow their dream from singing in the bedroom to performing in a sold-out concert for their adoring fans. Sing Mode encourages players to simply pick up the mic and start singing, either alone or battling against a mate. SingStar features three gameplay modes that allow for between one and eight players to join in together. Each track is the artist's original recording and SingStar also includes the original music video for many of the songs. SingStar 's expansive track list (see below for details) features a wide variety of well-known songs from world-class artists. Its groundbreaking technology analyses the player's vocal skills, based on their pitch, tone and timing as they sing into the USB microphone (two are included), and provides feedback based on how well or badly they have sung. SingStar encourages even the most reticent singer to unleash their inner rock star. ![]()
